Kitchen Cops 3/18/10

READ MORE:

No low performers in this week's kitchen cops report, but a recent low performer got a second chance with the health inspector, and the Kitchen Cops found seven high performers in their most recent round of inspections.

Last time out Ming Yao in Monkey Junction scored 80.5. This time around, three points off because cutting boards stored under prep table on buckets were dirty. An employee did not wash their hands between answering the phone and preparing food, rags were stored on cutting boards instead of in sanitizer and cutting boards were stored dirty. An improvement from 80.5 to 93.5 for Ming Yao.

This week's high score belongs to Paddy's Hollow downtown. Just a half point off to continue floor repairs and clean under and beside equipment. Add back a two-point bonus for workers passing a food safety course.

Same score of 101.5 for the Taco Bell across from UNCW. Just a half point off to replace a gasket in the walk-in cooler.

101.5 as well for Havana's in Carolina Beach. The food processor is not approved and it needs a sneezeguard and hot holding for breakfast.

Back to Wilmington and a perfect 100 for Sunset Bistro on at 4039 Masonboro Loop Road.

A half point off for the Subway at 5135 South College Road because the ice machine deflector needs cleaning.

The same score of 99.5 for Korean BBQ on Oleander, where the back door needs to be self-closing.

And just a half point off for some thawing issues at Scoop Ice Cream and Sandwich on Front Street downtown.
