WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Health inspectors found one low performer in this week's Kitchen Cops report and two Brunswick County eateries received high marks.
That low score belongs to On the Border in Mayfaire. Three points off because dishes were dirty, the dishwasher was not sanitizing and the ice machine and bins were dirty. Three more because two employee drinks were on the prep line. And hot onions and rice were too cold. Ten violations in all and a score of 87.5 for On the Border.
The top score belongs to Loco Jo's Bar & Grill on Howe Street in Southport. A perfect 100 plus two points for workers passing a food safety course and a score of 102.
Down the coast to the Sunset Beach Fishing Pier. A half point off to clean floors under equipment in the kitchen. Add back the two-point bonus for a score of 101.5.
