Planning on dining out this holiday weekend? Good news. The Kitchen Cops did not find any low performers this week.
This week's highest score belongs to the Taco Bell across from UNC Wilmington. A perfect score plus two points for workers passing a food safety course and a total of 102.
To the McDonald's on Carolina Beach Road. A half point off to replace gaskets on refrigeration and lids on pans. Add back the two-point bonus and a score of 101.5.
The same score for the Starbucks in Mayfaire. Just a half point off because there were bags of trash at the back door that needed to be taken to the dumpster.
A string of perfect 100s starting with Hoobie's NY Pizza on Exchange Drive in Wilmington, as well as the Kangaroo Express on South 17th Street. To oleander drive where Papa John's also achieved perfection, as did Personal Touch Catering on Carolina Beach Road south of Monkey Junction.
Finally to the Scotchman on North 23rd Street. A half point off because the staff needs to provide and use test strips for the sanitizer. A score of 99.5.
