Kitchen Cops 9/3/09

READ MORE:
It's been more than a year, but a big-name restaurant returns to the low performers list. And for the second week in a row, a restaurant gets a third chance with health inspectors. This week's lowest score belongs to Ruby Tuesday at Independence Mall in Wilmington. Three points off because spoons, bowls, spice containers, ramekins and lids were stored dirty with food particles. Two more because food was stacked on the buffet instead of being stored in the refrigerator. There were flies in the kitchen. The restaurant must stop catering until until catering Methods and equipment have been reviewed. And several things need cleaning. 82 for Ruby Tuesday. A third chance for Domino's at 1600 Market Street in Wilmington. In June, it scored 82.5. In July, it improved, but remained a low performer with an 86. Another reinspection in August found more improvement. It was enough to get Domino's off the low performers list with a 93. There are three high performers this week, including a couple of golf courses. We tee off at Meadowlands Golf Club in Calabash. A perfect 100, plus two points for workers passing a food safety course and a score of 102. We make the turn to Farmstead Golf Course also in Calabash. A half point off because floors under all equipment need cleaning. Add in the two-point bonus for a score of 101.5. Finally to Wilmington and Quiznos at Market Street and New Centre Drive. A perfect one-hundred.
