Landfall residents now have a new place to enjoy some peace. The Wilmington community hosted a dedication ceremony celebrating a new labyrinth in their garden. A local artist hand crafted a bronze heron sculpture to stand in the center of the path. The garden sits behind the Kenan Chapel and is often the location for weddings, religious services, and music programs. Chapel President Al Newsom said, "The main thing it'll bring is just a place in this nice wooded area for people to enjoy nature. It's also a place where you can walk the labyrinth and meditate, and think of things in the past, and think of things in the future." The labyrinth was paid for by Landfall residents. It is only open to its residents and guests. This is one of three labyrinths in Wilmington. The others are at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center and at the Episcopal Church on Oriole Drive.

im so excited i cant wait to see it!!!wait a minute I forgot about the big gate keeping the peasants out.

Dont we all have better

Dont we all have better things to do than looking at winding sidewalks in a patch of grass?

Yes, we can write about it

Yes, we can write about it instead of just looking at it.

Jealousy is never healthy...

Being snide towards those who are more fortunate than you is no virtue, especially when many of these people came from nothing, and through hard work, made themselves into who they are today. The overwhelming majority of those people donate a great deal of money to charity in both time and money. Furthermore, as if it matters, most of the people I know from Landfall are from the south and have accents so thick you could cut them with a knife.

It sounds to me as though

It sounds to me as though you're slightly full of yourself with (of course) the inappropriate and very tiresome remark about southern accents thrown in for good measure. I'm quite sure that the Landfall residents have a beautiful place for peaceful reflection; however, the point of the matter is that there are many, many hardworking people who came from nothing and are still trying to get to a comfortable place in their lives through hard work and dedication but cannot simply because there are NO DECENT JOBS in this economy. THAT is what is newsworthy, not to mention all of the rest of the world's events happending at the moment. Where is the media's priorities?

I'm sure you are correct

...but you have to admit it must have been a slow news day for this to be covered by both local news channels, especially when the majority of Wilmington will never be permitted to see it.
