Shoppers had a variety of items on their lists as they made a final push to stuff the stockings this Christmas. Scott Semanision, one last minute shopper on Wednesday said he was out getting a few last presents. “Odds and ends, maybe stuffed animals and snacks, things like that.” The procrastinators had just as many excuses for why the shopping wasn't done. Reuben Roberts said, “We never really had any time or we never really got out.” Greg Ford explained, “Well I thought I was done. Then I contemplated the year that I've had with my wife and I wanted to do a little more for her.” For many, putting off the shopping meant large crowds on the final shopping day before Christmas. Some were too focused on the finish to care about the crowds. Even the search for a parking spot didn't cloud Christmas Eve for some shoppers. Monica Skinner said, “It's very pleasant, everyone's really friendly and there's a lot of people out shopping, so at least I am not the only one.” A couple people we spoke with said they were set on being done with the shopping early this year, but judging by today's turnout, it never hurts to have an extra present lying around.
