Law enforcement in New Hanover and Brunswick kept busy over Labor Day holiday

The Labor Day holiday kept area law enforcement busy.

Over the course of a week-long operation, the Highway Patrol Division that covers New Hanover and Brunswick Counties made 95 DWI arrests. During an average week, it makes 20 to 30.

Highway patrol handed out a total of 700 citations last week, ranging from speeding to not wearing a seat belt.
