Leland to start curbside recycling program

With the New Year will come a new way to help the environment in Leland. The town will start a curbside recycling program in early 2009, similar to Wilmington's. Leland residents can use the service without increasing their trash collection bills. Recycling bins will be distributed to single- family homes in January and pick-up will begin in February.

Good idea-

You won't believe how much gets recycled once you start. And then it shows you just how much is staying out of landfills. I think this is a great idea!

What a wonderful decision..I personally have been driving my recycling to the collection points, and it is a bit of a pain. This will make life so much easier. And now I won't have to watch my neighbors throw their cans and bottles and newspapers in the trash cans..This will help make everybody a bit more green. Thanks Leland...
