Some elementary school kids shared their favorite books Wednesday morning. Students in Ms. Garcia's kindergarten class at Mary C. Williams School donated nearly 150 books to the Yahweh Center, a facility for abused and neglected children between the ages of 5 and 12. Ms. Garcia’s class entered a contest and won more than 500 children's books. Donating some of the books to children in need is her way of giving back to the community. She went with various students of Mary C. Williams School to present the books to the Yahweh Center. "They were really excited because I don't think they've ever had that many books,” said fifth grader Tyreak Bennerman. Ms. Garcia's class was one of only 200 across the nation to win the prize out of almost 16,000 classes that entered the contest.

I am so sorry that you

I am so sorry that you missed that actual broadcast about it last night...My class participated in the Scholastic Book Clubs' Classrooms Care Program - classes log how many books they read each day to one hundred (100) books and then Scholastic Books donates one hundred (100) books to schools that are in great need, up to a million (1,000,000) books - in so doing the class was entered into their Care Where You Are Sweepstakes. About sixteen thousand (16,000) classes across the country entered and two hundred (200) were selected to receive five hundred (500) books to donate to local charities.

I would like to know what

I would like to know what contest they won and what they did to win it. Sure it is great to donate some of the winnings, but what did they do to win in the first place?
