The Wilmington Elks Club hosted the 23rd Annual BB&T Football Jamboree Kickoff luncheon Tuesday. Coaches from the ten teams participating in Friday's football jamboree were on hand, as was retiring New Hanover County athletic director Joe Miller. Miller has seen the jamboree grow over the years into a much anticipated event. “Watching the jamboree grow into the event that it has grown into has been spectacular. I mean it is an event,” he said. The jamboree starts with a cheerleading spectacular at 5:00 p.m. The first scrimmage kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with Ashley facing Wallace-Rose Hill.
