Lost kayaker's remains identified in S.C.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- DNA analysis has confirmed that human remains found on Hunting Island State Park in South Carolina are those of a missing kayaker born in Raleigh who was lost at sea two weeks ago.

Twenty-seven-year-old Stephen Lee of Atlanta had gone fishing with his brother-in-law Jeremy Scott.

The two set off in a tandem kayak from Seabrook Island, about 20 miles south of Charleston.

Relatives say they intended to stay close to shore but were swept out to sea when a storm rolled in.

The Coast Guard plucked Scott from the sea off Fripp Island, South Carolina, on May Ninth.

Lee graduated from The Citadel in Charleston in 2001.
