PEMBROKE, NC (WWAY) -- The Lumbee Indians want to get into the gambling business. Three members of the tribal council signed a contract with a Nevada-based law firm, to represent the tribe in its bid for federal recognition.
The contract says the firm will pursue a bill that would give the Lumbees the option to gamble. The recognition bill now in the US Senate prohibits the tribe from getting into the gambling business.

they are identity thieves and just want something free like a casino they are not even really Indians ,they fear DNA test which show only black white ancestry these lumbees.
Lumbee fooling the public
this lumbee lie has been long running ,they are not natives by blood or culture as they have no indian culture and no connetion to any historic indian tribe ,they have only myths and tall tales ,their DNA has also failed to identify any native Dna haplo groups so why should they deserve anything any other poor person doesnt have,and yes they have the longest running false identity,they went from being the lost colony to then cherokee then siouan ,so why would real indians not know certain their own origins and not keep changing it! this is 2013 we have the technology and it has not prooven any of their lumbee claims.

With essentially all other Native Americans in this country being able to do as they please, it is assanine to think that the Lumbees can't. Go figure.
Only REAL tribes get to open casinos
The Lumbee are nothing but an interbred mixture of disgraced and banished Cherokees and Tuscaroras, runaway slaves, and deserting soldiers from the War Between the States. They are no more deserving of tribal recognition than the Cleveland Indians.
