Man accused of molestation in country on work visa

WILMINGTON -- We have new information about the man accused of molesting a young girl at the Cape Fear Fair and Expo Friday. Reyaldo Martagon, 23, was in the country on a work visa from Mexico. The alleged victim's mother says he was working at the fair Friday night when he touched her daughter inappropriately. Martagon is charged with indecent liberties with a child, sexual battery and assault on a child under 12. We repeatedly tried to contact the company in charge of hiring for the fair. Our calls were not returned. Martagon is currently in the New Hanover County jail under $100,000 bond.

accused man

why is everyone accusing the mother of neglecting to watch her child? of course she is responsible for her safety, but my question is WHERE IS THE FATHER???? its time for men to MAN UP to their responsibilities as fathers, MARRY those women they have children with and SUPPORT THEM! support means not only money, but time, love, nurturing and caring for both his children and wife. when our children were young, we always knew where they were and kept an eye on them, especially in public places like the mall, county fairs, supermarkets etc when they became teenagers, we still required that they tell us where they were going and with whom and to check in, especially if they were out at night. having children is easy but raising them is another story.

Great job screening this one

Great job screening this one for his visa.. This is a perfect example as to why it is a ticking time bomb to have all these illegal immigrants running around and we have no idea where they are or what their history is.

Where was the mother when this took place? Isn't it 'her' responsiblity to make sure nothing like this happens to her child? Seems to me she is at fault as well for not protecting her child from this alleged abuse.

The Fair

Curious, Are you completely stupid? Our children and their parents have a right to be in a public place without fear of being sexually assaulted. This child was at a FAIR, a place where she should be able to be a child. What needs to happen here is if this man is found to have committed this crime he needs to be given the death penalty and put to death in 30 days, maybe then anyone else who is thinking of harming one of our children in this country, will think again.
