A New Hanover County man is in jail under a $1 million secured bond. John Maisenhelder is charged with three counts of taking indecent liberties with a child. New Hanover County deputies and Wilmington Police worked together on the case. Mr. Maisenhelder is the owner of Creative after School Training (CAST) on Masonboro Loop Road. Calls were made to the parents of forty-two kids who are currently enrolled in programs offered by CAST. These calls served as the initial parent notification and are now being expanded to include the students of previous enrollment. If there are any parents of previous program enrollment who have concerns regarding this investigation they are asked to contact New Hanover County Detectives at (910) 798-4260.

I can relate with what this man is going through. All it takes is someone that might be vindictive and they bring a charge such as this upon one. Yes, let the judicial system work.
the public has already convicted Mr. Meisenhelder before the trial even starts. Do you remember the charges brought against Reverend Jonathan Ballard? He spent time in jail, released on bond, and the charges were dropped after the accusations were proven to be false. Let's drop the "mob mentality" folks and let the justice system do its job.
I have known this man since I was about 5 years old. He even taught my sister and myself karate at his "gym". He goes to my parents church and has always seemed like a stand up man...this is just unbelievable. If the allegations are true...this will just obviously ruin his family. They have a little girl they adopted a few years ago that he just adores. Nothing ever happened out of the way with him whenever I was around, he even taught my Sunday school class!!!
This is a man who is accredited in after school care and appears to be genuine. Many parents both have to work; many single parents simply cannot be there after school much to their deep dismay. It is tragic for the poor children and that we have to have so much distrust in our community. I was thinking about signing my children up for Martial Arts with this man, but found a man in the area that we know and trust. Talk about a heart felt "phew". It breaks my heart that not everyone can feel that way. As far as the God comments, just because you are a non-believer does not mean you need to be arrogant and close minded. It is a shame that MR.MAISENHELDER and others have abused this connection and betrayed trust.
