WILMINGTON -- Thursday we brought you the story of a Wilmington family that was suffering through the heat wave without an air conditioner. The family got a surprise Friday. One local viewer saw the story and decided he wanted to help. Wilmington resident Eric Kozen contacted our newsroom because he wanted to donate an air conditioner to the Herring family. Their old air conditioner broke down and they couldn't afford a new one. They had resorted to using fans and the hose outside to cool off. Mr. Kozen made a trip to Home Depot and delivered the new air conditioner Friday. Andrea Herring said, "I think it's great what he's done for me. I wish him the best of luck. I have a baby, and i'm happy now because it is hot out here." Kozen hopes his generosity will inspire others to help those in need.
