Man, teenage girl charged in drive-by shooting

A man and a teenage girl are in jail following a drive-by shooting at a home in Brunswick County. It happened Wednesday in front of a home on Easy Street in Bolivia. Police arrested 21-year old Jaquan Holland and 17-year old Brittany Smith. Police said the two victims were sitting in a vehicle in front of the home when the suspects drove by and fired at the car. One man was taken to the hospital with a bullet wound to the face. Holland faces attempted murder charges; Smith is charged with conspiracy.

I feel since it's his first offence he should been done just like SHERIFF Ron Hewett and givin a slap on the rist and then released early with good behavior. Our justice system never really serves justice, it's all about who you know and who got the most money.

If as a society we eliminate these thugs from the gene pool then eventually we won't have this problem. But for now, we will have to settle for putting his butt away for a long time. And her's too for being there. There should be no positive re-enforcement or sympathy for someone that would shoot someone or watch while it went down. And P.S.; You can yell "shut up", it is protected under the constitution just like my comment above. :Ð

You are correct. I do not know what type of life he has had. However, I do know what type of life I hopes he has in the future. That would be a long stay in prison. Someone like this does not need to be on the street. He got a gun before the shooting, so he knew what he was doing.....

He is nothing but a thug. He shot another person in the face. We should just hug him and tell him he is great. No, he is a criminal, has a long criminal history (I put some of his crimes up but WWAY won't post for fear of offending a criminal) If he is so wonderful, let him stay with you.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see exactly what happened here. Common sense, which he has none, should be screaming that this action isn't gonna turn out well for him. His reaction must have been.... HUH? I don't give a rats furry behind about what kind of life he has had. If it was all that bad, and he had any gut to him at all, he would strive to rise above the bad and want to create better. But no.... If you lack basic "human" characteristics then you will never amount to a hill of beans period and will continue to show up in mug shots or finally a coroners report if society is lucky.

Doesn't matter what type of life he had. A bad life does not make it acceptable to do a drive-by shooting on someone. I may have sinned in my life, but I've never tried to shoot and kill anyone either. So yes, I feel I can cast a stone (in the form of an opinion) on this subject. Finally, this is a message board where we are supposed to post our opinions if we'd like. So no, I will not shut up.

...so can I throw a brick? Who CARES what kind of life he's had???? There is no justification whatsoever this kind of behavior. Even if he had absolutely no spiritual, theological, or ethical training in his life, he HAS to have seen a TV show and thought, "If I do that kind of stupid behavior, I'm going to prison." Here's hoping that the judicial system crushes him....but don't worry....this is North Carolina, "Land of the Enablers and Saps"....he won't pull much time....we wouldn't want to be mean to him....
