WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) -- With the June 22nd run-off approaching Democrat Elaine Marshall spent last night and today in our area rallying votes for US Senate. Marshall's campaign hosted a fundraiser at the Blockade Runner in Wrightsville Beach last night.
North Carolina's Secretary of State said the economy is the most important issue on voters minds.
"We've got to value work rather than value the deal," Marshall said. "That's the strength of America. That's what's made us the country that we are, so job creation and spurring innovation and investing in education, because that's investing in people."
Marshall also met with voters this morning in Wilmington and this afternoon in Elizabethtown. She will face Cal Cunningham in the run-off election. The winner takes on incumbent Republican Richard Burr in the fall.
