McGee leaving Brunswick County schools earlier than expected


Brunswick County Schools Superintendent Katie McGee resigned Thursday. The Board of Education had been actively looking for McGee's successor while she served out the rest of her contract. The Board decided last fall not to renew McGee's contract, which expires at the end of June.

Last night the board accepted her resignation effective January 31. No word yet on McGee's replacement.

Well it's about time! The

Well it's about time! The superintendent before her was much better! Other news outlets credit her for raising test scores during her reign. No! The teachers, principals and students did that. The current principal at Leland Middle is outstanding and I credit her for the improvement at that school. The only thing I credit Ms. McGee for is sweeping county school problems under the rug.
