Lowering unemployment rates and revitalizing our economy was Topic A for Congressman Mike McIntyre as he visited Friday with local community leaders. McIntyre held the conference at Brunswick Community College to get feedback from business owners about their economic concerns, and bring that information back to Washington. The idea is to help determine what areas of industry will get a piece of the proposed stimulus package. "We've been hearing a lot from Wall Street, from the big boys and the big three in Detroit, and I wanted to make sure that we're hearing form the people back in Main Street, our coastal and rural communities,” said Congressman McIntyre. McIntyre chairs the rural economic sub-committee. He said coastal and rural areas were not originally included in the economic stimulus package. The congressman said his sub-committee had that changed as of Thursday.

Magic Mike

I went to Burgaw when he came to town to talk to him one on one about fair trade vs free trade, the impact of job loss in the manufacturing sector and the open border policy that Democrats and Republicans support. I drew a blank stare from him. He did tell me what he had done for veterans. I can just imagine that more Globalist agenda is on the plate. Open wide for more dung sandwich.

Mike doesn't get it

I've run into the same issue, guest857. I've tried to talk to him about government deficit spending, taxation and how it hurts the economy, and how to stimulate job growth in the US. He falls back on "politician-speak" without really addressing the issues. I don't know if he just doesn't get it, or if he's not willing to say anything that has been cleared with Harry and Nancy first.

I wonder

when were small business owners alerted to this conference? As the owner of 2 "small" businesses, it was news to me. Of course, perhaps only Democrats were invited.
