Military Cutoff construction winding down

WILMINGTON -- The Military Cutoff construction project is winding down. That's the word from the Department of Transportation. Crews have moved the orange barrels to the side of the road. They still have to paint stripes on one section of the road. Officials say the project should be finished in about a week and a half.

Let's see...

Let's see if they finish before Jesus comes back.

It will be finished...

It will be finished about the same time that the new convention centre starts making money and ceases to be a tax payer funded project. The DOT already has plans for the access to Landfall to get a major upgrade and therefore it isn't finished yet. Also there will a whole new shopping centre annex and some more community space to be built over there and the roads will have to be changed to accomodate those projects as well. Call Raleigh DOT and see for yourself.

should not be allowed

Mayfaire should not have been allowed to open until the road was done. Then you can bet your butt it would've been finished over a year ago. City and county planners are jokes in this town.

WHY don't these IDIOTS just stop giving out dates it will be's getting laughable...

Military Cutoff - Worst Construction Project I have ever seen

In 1889 - The Eiffel Tower Construction took 2 years, two months, and five days. 2007 - Military Cutoff road widening project - well over 3 years and counting and millions over budget. Barnhill Contracting Company ( ) and DOT should be ashamed of wasting so much of taxpayers time and money.
