Military judge to hear motions in Hennis case

FORT BRAGG, N.C. -- A military judge will hear motions in the case of an Army sergeant recalled to duty after retirement so he could be tried for a 1985 triple slaying. Tuesday's motion hearing for Master Sgt. Timothy Hennis will deal with a defense motion to ban two eyewitness identifications because they aren't reliable. Hennis is charged with the slayings of 31-year-old Kathryn Eastburn and her two daughters at their home in Fayetteville. One witness selected Hennis in a photograph as the man outside the home of Kathryn Eastburn after the killings and the other claims Hennis used an ATM card that belonged to the victim.
