UNCW has officially re-assigned former men’s basketball coach Benny Moss.
Athletic Director Kelly Mehrtens met with Moss today to review the details of his reassignment.
Coach Moss has been named Special Assistant to the Athletic Director. His duties will include assistance with and participation in special events, as assigned by Mehrtens.
Can anyone
name a college head coach treated in such a manner? I've racked my brain and I can not.
If he is no longer Head Coach, then pay him his contract and release him.
Or, is this the way the AD & Chancellor try to save face and a few dollars while denigrating the College reputation.
Do they honestly think this will not impact the caliber of candidates they will see when they begin recruiting for a replacement?
The way Coach Moss has been
The way Coach Moss has been treated by the University and it's A.D. it is going to be hard to find a coach willing to come and try to get this program turned around. Coach Moss came into the program at its height with Brad Brownell being a great coach and tons of Donor Support but the way he was treated by UNCW not attempting to extend his contract when he was doing such a great job. A lot of the large donors left and quit supporting the program and quit coming to the games. They need to take the sign down "Toughest place to play in CCA" because attendence is about 50% full
