NAACP to file complaint against NC school district

READ MORE:
DURHAM -- The state chapter of the NAACP says it will file a complaint against an eastern North Carolina school system alleging that its practices have hampered black students. The organization said in a news release issued Monday that it would file the complaint against Wayne County schools, citing policies that have resulted in lower graduation rates, higher suspension rates and more and stiffer discipline for black students. The Rev. William Barber II said the complaint will be filed with the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Education on Tuesday. A spokesman for Wayne County schools said officials hadn't received the complaint yet and couldn't respond to the allegations. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)

How about this

From the story: "citing policies that have resulted in lower graduation rates, higher suspension rates and more and stiffer discipline for black students." Really? So the handbook has different punishments for black and white students? Is the stiffer discipline meaning students have to wear their pants pulled up to the proper level? That seems to trouble a large amount of the younger black population. Yes, I know there are also plenty of white and hispanic students that seem to have trouble with wearing their pants like they have some sense. How about the families of black students actually be families to them? Don't look to place blame the school because Jr can't read when it is because Jr doesn't go to class.

It's always about the color

It's always about the color of the skin isn't it? Not the lack of proper parenting, educational support and discipline at home. No it's ALWAYS because they are black.
