Saturday, people will use their feet to bring awareness to mental illness. The Sixth Annual Walk for the National Alliance for Mental Health will start at 10:00 a.m. at Hugh MacRae Park. The Wilmington chapter is hosting the walk.

If you are interested, you can sign up tomorrow at the park to walk. There will be food and music. The walk is free and open to the public, however $15 will get you a t-shirt and registered for a raffle giveaway.

President of the Wilmington chapter of NAMI, Pete Mumma said, “One-in-four to one-in-three families are affected by mental illness, so if it's not your house it's you neighbors house, it's just a crucial giveback to the community in my opinion.”

Last year NAMI raised $9,000. Money donated will go towards training programs that assist with mental illness.
