NC business lobbies get hearing at Legislature

RALEIGH, N.C. -- North Carolina's lobbying groups for corporations and for small business have the ears of state legislators who say encouraging job creation is their greatest goal.

The North Carolina Chamber holds its annual legislative day on Wednesday to tell lawmakers what the state's business community needs to grow. The top Republicans and top Democrats in both the state House and Senate are scheduled to attend.

Getting particular attention from Chamber of Commerce members will be government action on a proposed insurance law change. North Carolina is one of a handful of states that allows an injured person to recover nothing if they have even the slightest blame.

The National Federation of Independent Business will hear from Gov. Beverly Perdue.
