NC city puts sex offender ban on hold

HIGH POINT -- High Point City Council has delayed a plan to ban sex offenders from the North Carolina city's parks. The council was asked Monday night by the parks and recreation department to approve a ban on offenders. But some council members said they were uncomfortable with the proposal and sent it back for more study. Neighboring Greensboro already has banned sex offenders from public parks and other North Carolina municipalities have done the same. Councilman Latimer Alexander said there seemed to be unanswered questions and noted that High Point hasn't had a problem with offenders. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. The people who can't figure out wheather or not to put this law through should be fired. There is no question when it comes to the protection of children, mine and yours. How could someone even question that?

God forgives why cant we?

Society has lost all morals today I believe even sex offenders should be given a second chance especially the younger 18 to 25 year olds that have had relations with 15 to 17 year olds at parties and most of these younger boys and girls no what they are doing it is the 30 and older predators that prey on young children that deserve these type of penalties not our young adults that make wrong choices because in all essence they need more guidence and I believe and have found alot of these younger adults have been in some shape or form offended when they were children but we as a society label these young men and women as predators for life that is unfair that our own god can forgive these individuals but we can't. Atleast I know in my heart I have forgiven my offender and because of that god has given me a new outlook on life. So to see how our own country is handling things is such a cruel way this isn't a free country any longer. We don't help these people become productive citizens we just label them and make their lives hell. So in closing I just like to say let the first perfect person cast the first stone which will never happen and to fix this problem we need to zero in on the younger children that have been offended because chances are higher that they will become perpatrators when they are older and as for the offenders we need to help them and in the future give them a second chance because love conquers all God bless everyone and hope you all ponder the fact that god forgives for much worse why can't we!!

Are you gonna tell me that if it happened to your child...you would forgive the person? Oh, these sex offenders need more people like you then our children could not be let out of the house you nut!

God is capitalized first off and God has blessed us with the ablilty to forgive but that doesn't mean we have to allow these offenders near our children. God also has empowered us to make our own decisions and that is to not put our children in harms way. We owe it to our children to give them the best environment to grow and become productive indivudials, not to feed them to the wolves because they had a hard childhood themselves. I question the motives of these folks who do not want to pass this sex offender ban. I would not feel comfortable to have them represent myself or my family. BTW I don't throw stones at sex offenders, I throw boulders. God forgives me too.
