READ MORE:
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. -- A retired White House photographer who worked for five U.S. presidents and his wife were killed in a traffic accident on a North Carolina road. A family member said Wednesday that 77-year-old Jack Kightlinger of Flat Rock and his 77-year-old wife, Adele, were killed in a two-car crash on Monday. Kightlinger's son-in-law Brad Fellrath of Charlotte said funeral arrangements were pending. The Times-News of Hendersonville reported that the state Highway Patrol found an 18-year-old pickup truck driver crossed the center line and hit the Kightlingers's car. A patrol spokeswoman said charges were pending Wednesday. Kightlinger took behind-the-scenes photos of presidents from Lyndon Johnson to Ronald Reagan for 19 years through 1985.
