NC prison closings begin next month

READ MORE:
RALEIGH, N.C. -- The shutdown of seven North Carolina prisons because of state budget cuts will begin next month. Seven of the state's 79 prisons are closing because of state budget cuts that will also eliminate nearly 1,000 jobs at the Department of Correction. WRAL-TV reported that the prison closures beginning September 1 will affect about 1,000 inmates. Correction officials say the Wilmington Residential Facility for Women will be the first to close. Other facilities in Cleveland, Gates, Granville, Guilford and Union counties will close by December 1 and McCain Correctional Hospital will close April 1. Some probation managers could also lose their jobs after the Department of Correction merges 14 of its judicial districts, bringing the total number of districts from 45 down to 31. Prison Closings

Perhaps ol Bev should take a hefty paycut. These prisons were helping these women become better persons and breaking out of the criminal cycle. I think we should shut down the govenor's mansion for the next three years. I mean we can get ol Bev a cubicle to work out of in a building that has a half way working air conditioner. We can convert one of those old jails into her office. She can drive her own car. We'll pay her pennies for mileage. She can grow chickens for extra cash. I mean the bovine fecal matter from her up to this point is only hurting the citizens of this state. She's done nothing to improve anything since elected. Better yet let's make prison's a non profit and take out the special interest factor. I mean the probation officers and corrections officers are more qualified to run this state than she is. Jails and Prison are suppose to be about punishment and rehabilitation back into society. In reality it's a business for special interest and a constant in and out door to the jail and prisons.

THANKS

For telling it like it is!!! Not only has ol Bev done nothing constructive - but neither has ol Prez OBAMA(nation), I sure would like to see her at a Town Hall meeting...wwhheeee.
