NC woman accused in video says school bans her

READ MORE:
CHARLOTTE -- A North Carolina woman accused of appearing in a gross video at a Domino's Pizza kitchen earlier this year says she's been asked to leave college. The Charlotte Observer reported that Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro told 31-year-old Kristy Hammonds of Taylorsville on Tuesday that she cannot attend classes because she is a registered sex offender. She told WCNC-TV she had a relationship several years ago with a girl who said she was 19 but actually was 14. Hammonds and 32-year-old Michael Anthony Setzer of Conover are accused of being the employees who filmed themselves breaking sanitation laws while making a pizza. She is to appear in court Tuesday. School officials said they asked Hammonds to leave because of a law that prohibits registered sex offenders from schools. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)

To those who think this law

To those who think this law shouldn't apply to this case, Kristy Hammonds was banned because Wilkes Community College has an early college program, where high school kids attend class at the community college. Brunswick Community College has the same thing. The sex crime she is comvicted of involved a 14 or 15 year old girl. I think it makes perfect sense to keep her away from high school students.

The reason sex offenders are

The reason sex offenders are prohibited from schools is because of the association with children. Unless there are some prodigys at Wiles Community College, I would say you have a school population made up of people over 18. The school is pushing it, and I smell a lawsuit.

It has nothing to do with the law

and everything to do with that disgusting video... and she deserves it. I had was eating a pizza from Dominoe's when I saw that disgusting display! Those two should be in jail.

children are nearby

CFCC just graduated a 13 or 14 year old prodigy and they have a daycare on campus. I'm sure some other colleges do too.

That child prodigy needs a

That child prodigy needs a beeter publicist. Most of the time they have four year universities throwing full scholarships at them.

School Law

(b) As used in this section, "school" does not include home schools as defined in G.S. 115C‑563 or institutions of higher education, and the term "child care center" is defined by G.S. 110‑86(3). The term "registrant" means a person who is registered, or is required to register, under this Article. The law.

If its a law, then its law. This wouldn't be interesting to research. I am going to research the statue. Is it meant to prohibit sex offenders from schools k-12? Or colleges also? According to how it is written it can be interpreted differently. A lawyers input on this would be nice. I'm going to research and post back.
