NC woman killed, daughter wounded in shooting

CHARLOTTE -- Charlotte police say a man has killed his girlfriend and shot at two of her teenage children in their home. The Charlotte Observer reports 46-year-old Scott E. Davis Sr. was arrested Sunday and charged with murder and three counts of attempted murder. Police say Davis shot 38-year-old Gabrielle Kinard during a domestic disturbance late Saturday night. Investigators say Davis also shot at Kinard's children, critically injuring an 18-year-old woman fleeing with her 5-month-old sister in her arms. A 15-year-old girl escaped the home with only minor injuries. Authorities say it is the third homicide involving domestic violence in Charlotte in the past two weeks. Davis remains in jail.
