More than 2,000 Marines from Camp Lejeune will join the recovery effort in Haiti. The Marine Corps did not say when the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit will leave to help with the earthquake recovery.
More than 100 soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division are heading to Haiti as part of a massive international relief effort as well. The paratroopers from the 1st Battalion, 73rd Infantry deployed today to support humanitarian operations in Haiti. The rest of the battalion of about 800 soldiers is scheduled to deploy tomorrow.
The support is part of President Obama's promise to provide an all-out rescue, including military and civilian emergency teams from across the US.

I'm glad the military is
I'm glad the military is going to Haiti. I think this would put the nations eyes on the military for world peace, and they will see how our U.S. Military actually is, instead of going out and starting wars all of the time. Wouldn't you rather see them help instead of fight?
