Hurricane Katrina reminded all of us just how important it is to prepare before a hurricane strikes.
New Hanover County Emergency Management officials are getting their ducks in a row in the event a massive storm hits our coast.
A workshop today centered around a fictional category four hurricane they called "Laura," and every agency, from fire and rescue to the school system, responded with a plan on how to begin the evacuation process.
The main goal is to help residents react and evacuate.
Evacuation simulations are planned for tomorrow in Harnett and Johnston Counties.
