New Hanover County names principal of the year

READ MORE: New Hanover County names principal of the year
WILMINGTON -- One of New Hanover County's own has been named principal of the year. Principal James McAdams of Ashley High has been in the school system for more than 30 years. He says the award isn't just for him to celebrate; rather, it's an honor for the entire school to share. McAdams said, "It makes me feel really good for Ashley. We worked very hard this year to try to improve our school, so it's an honor for me but it's also an honor for the entire school." Principal McAdams will go on to represent New Hanover County schools as principal of the year in a regional competition.

Principal of the Year

Good Morning I just wanted to extend a warm congratulations to you. You may not remember me but I was hired at South Brunswick High School under your Administration as SIMS Data Manager in 2001. I always thought you were very good at what you did. What I liked about working under your Administration was, when you hired a person you allowed them to do their job and backed them when needed to do so. I really hated to see you leave SBHS. Again congratulations for the Principal of the Year. Cheryl J. Davis Program Coordinator University of NC Wilmington Office of Academic Success Initiative 601 S. College Rd Wilmington, NC 28403

Wonderful

I am glad to see Mr. McAdams honored in this way for his contribution to the school system. He is a wonderful man you cares about the education and well being of students in New Hanover County Schools.

I agree--what a joke! The time that he was at NHHS, he was as caring and concerned as a, a --I don't know what to say, but it wouldn't be very nice. I hope the time he spent away from the US made him more appreciative of being here. I am sure that there are more deserving educators out there!

the man is a joke and and

the man is a joke and and did not deserve it. guess that goes with the school board also

What a joke!!!

What a joke!!!

RE: What a joke!

I have to agree. Of course, I'm sure his dedication has changed at Ashley, since he is now surrounded by kids that he actually wants to help. I'm sure his attitude has changed since his years at NBHS. He is more in his league now.

censorship on mcadams

wwaytv3 censored my post! i said nothing inappropriate, but i'll attempt again. mr. mcadams is a joke. he is not a nice, understanding or reasonable person. his first goal and solution to every problem is to make rules, which blows my mind. strict rules do not help anyone get into college! and GETTING INTO COLLEGE should be the MAIN GOAL FOR A HIGH SCHOOL!!! mr. mcadams should have stayed abroad when he "left for a better job and a good opportunity." i guess they didn't really like him.
