Wilmington city pools will be open to swimmers Saturday, with one exception.
The Northside Pool on Bess Street will remain closed for the summer season. City officials say budget cuts, coupled with low attendance, are the reasons why it is not opening. The splash pad, located next to the pool, will be open for play and is free.
City pools cost one dollar for kids, and two dollars for adults.

Pool closed
I think the pool being closed is ridiculous!!! My family and I have tried going 3 times already this season not knowing it was closed. Every time we have gone, there have been at least 5 other families there wondering why it was closed. Budget cuts???? Stop putting stupid sidewalks thru parks that don't need them like the one on Noble Dr and hire someone desperately seeking a job to lifeguard!!!!! I have a toddler that loves the Splash Pad and 2 older kids that want to swim!!!!!!!
Are the City's pools...
