The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office played Santa Wednesday night. They sponsored the sixth annual Make a Child Smile Operation at Murrayville Elementary. Deputies adopted 96 kids and through contributions, grants and donations, bought them Christmas presents. Santa even paid a visit to help give out the gifts. “I think that it was nice of them to give them to us” said Katrina Harrison. They went out of their way to go out and buy these gifts for us, which is also great. Felicia Harrison said “I can’t wait because I was not able to personally buy gifts this year, but wow just to be able to take pictures and see their expressions, I can tell already from the packaging that this is going to be wonderful.” In addition to the gifts, the children also got to enjoy a holiday dinner.
