Hewett subpoenas reference inmate work

For weeks every time you picked up the paper or turned the news on all you heard or read about was sheriff Hewett. Now everything is quite. Is'nt it time for an update to let everyone know what is going on in the investigations? I think now that the county has it's investigation going on that the federal will probably not do anything with theirs.

why is it when land don't perk in brunswick county,its ok when big time comes in to build,why do they go by yellow sand to perk,don't they know all over america,land has different colors,its ok if you have a large manufacturing site,just pump it in a ditch,or better yet if you run a power plant just pump it in the ocean,with a large underground pipe

Let's see how everyone would feel if they had $10,000 in personal property stolen and when they try to follow up and see what is being done, the sheriff's department states, "If you come back in here I will have you arrested." What did I do wrong--nothing!!!! I wanted the people who broke into my house and stole my property to be arrested. And yes I know who did it. A person who lied to sheriff's deputy telling him he owned the house and property. Wait--I thought you could prove ownership by way of deeds and there is a way to check on that. I held the deed to this property which was given to me by family. But do you think the sheriff's department checked on it. No--they took the bad person's word for it and my word meant nothing. So I hope that they put Ronald under the jail house!!!!! And yes I know him, went to school with him, grew up in Brunswick County.

Why is it that all the people showing up for the grand jury are taking the fifth? No one is talking. My Opinion, It's VERY Rural and perfect, if I was flying like that too land across 17/211 intersection into the gamelands with plenty of cleared blocks, with straight dirt roads that you could landa small plane, (yes I've been out there at some of the hunt camps..) I see there's Alot of RH Hewett Supports here, though, If you happen too get on the "wrong side" of Him or His Supporters, this includes and not Limited too, Gore's Grisset's Robinson's Hewett's (Caucasian) Hewett's (colored) Did you know they were "ONE" family at one time? How dare Hewwet make those inmates work !!!!! What is this world coming to???????? Ok.....seriously. 1. its probably the only honest work they have ever done. 2. IS THE SHERIFF GUILTY? I DO NOT KNOW BUT LETS WAIT TILL THE GRAND JURY FINISHES THERE INVESTIGATION. IS THERE CORRUPTION IN OUR COUNTY? LOOK AT THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS HERE IN BSL AND ANSWER YES.

This may be part of it, but Sheriff Hewett was under investigation by the Federal Grand Jury months before the October 20th wedding date, so while this might be part of it, there is definitely more to the story.

First of all who gives a s#@t that he had inmates working. First of all they should have to do something. What just let them sit back and relax while doing their time for a crime that they committed? Just like the other comment let them clean everyones yard. I think Ronald Hewett is good for brunswick county. He stands by his employees when they need it the most. LEAVE HIM ALONE!

All of this is insane!!!! For you people who think the sheriff would have inmates at his house to do yard work before the wedding....grow up and please have common sense. Truly think about it and get your facts right! I was in the wedding and apart of everything that took place and let me tell you the only people doing much work for the wedding were the people in the wedding party and friends. Just leave them alone!

I think that the Sheriff could show alot of people that he hasn't committed any crimes if he would come out of hiding. For someone that would drive across the county just to be on a short TV news segment and has now effectively gone into seclusion, it doesn't leave the taxpayers feeling very good about our Sheriff. If the Sheriff hasn't done anything wrong, then he should face the citizens and tell his side of it. The only reason for anyone to hide is if they have something to hide. The truth shall set you free.
