A new non-invasive liposuction procedure has made its way to our area and the device is the only one of its kind in this part of the state.

It is called Zerona and you can find it at Revitalize Medical in Wilmington.

The FDA-approved technique uses cold lasers to remove fat cells and contour the body. It is a four-week process, and clients should see results soon after that.

It is not to be used for massive amounts of fat, but rather if someone has a few target areas.

"A prime candidate is somebody who is already pretty close to their ideal body weight, somebody who has a healthy lifestyle, somebody who is already thinking about a lifetime of wellness and fitness and is just interested in some subtle sculpting," said Karen Harum, MD.

The whole procedure costs about $3,000.

Zerona can also be used for pain control, by healing soft tissue.
