New text message hoax circulating

Wilmington Police and New Hanover County deputies have received calls saying there is a text message/email hoax going around again. Recipients are receiving text messages warning them that local gang members are going to initiate new members by having them shoot women as they enter or exit Walmart. Police say there is no need to be alarmed.

Wow! You people are sad. If you think this is a real threat, you must not have received the text message. In the message it says not to go to Walmart "tonight". So if this has been going around for days, months or years, there's obviously nothing to it because it has already happened. And to the people that say to take it seriously, are women just supposed to clamor up and never go to any Walmart at night? You can get killed anywhere at anytime. Why waste time in fear over a hoax?

When people put down their guard that is when it will happen. I live in Shallotte and I know that the police have been watching the Wal-Mart here more the past couple of days than they ever had. So there must be some kind of truth to it.

Please people, get a life. Whether it has been going around for two years, or two DECADES...it is still an issue so please don't get on here and say its not that serious because of how long it has been going around. People are so ignorant about these type of things. It could happen to anybody at anytime, and yes I fully understand that, but let's just face the facts, something lead up to it being just that certain day, something triggered it. I don't care what anybody wears EVERYBODY should be concerned and aware. So EDUCATE YOURSELF!!!!! It doesn't matter how long it has been going around. It just hasn' happened YET because the word gets out about their plans every time!

People are dumb, This hoax has been going around for two years that I know of. Besides I have it on good authority that they only shoot people who wear plaid and stripes at the same time.
