New UNCW students move in

READ MORE: New UNCW students move in
WILMINGTON -- If it seems like more people are in town and more cars are on the road it's not your imagination. It's because this weekend was move-in time for UNC Wilmington students. It's an emotional day for the Musgrove family. Cameron Musgrove is moving in to UNCW. Cameron said, "I'm moving into Wilmington at Graham and I'm going to college." Cameron is one of nearly 2,000 incoming freshmen moving into the dorms. Robert Musgrove helped his daughter move in. "I feel mixed emotions. Happy, sad -- it's my second daughter. We're empty nesters now. So this will be quite a change for us," Robert said. The family traveled three hours to get on campus, but only spent two minutes moving in. Robert said, "We pulled up here, the helpers descended upon our car there was about six or eight of them. They unloaded the car and we were on our way just like that nothing to it." UNCW had 1,300 volunteers, students and staff helping the new Seahawks move in. Speaking of her new dorm, Cameron said, "It's a little bit smaller and a little bit whiter. It's very plain, and I guess I'm going to have to fix it up and make it a little bit more my home." As students worry about their rooms and starting classes, parents worry about their kids." Marie Musgrove is Cameron's mother. She said, "It's sad, but this is her next venture in life and we're happy for her because this is a good place for her to be." UNCW is where Cameron wants to be. She said, "The friendly atmosphere and all the people -- all the happy people and the beach. And it's a good school." Be warned: the first day of classes is Wednesday. So watch out for increased traffic.
