North Carolina transportation officials say work has been halted on a bridge replacement in Jacksonville.
The Transportation Department said Monday that the contractor for the Buddy Phillips Bridge is working with the United States Bankruptcy Court to restructure the company.

Extended Stay Hotels LLC has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The Spartanburg, South Carolina based company operates more than 650 hotels in the US and Canada, including one on New Center Drive in Wilmington.
