CFPUA responds to major sewer spill

A CFPUA spokesperson says they will hold off on estimating how many gallons of sewage spilled until they can get a more accurate idea. But Jim Gregson, director of the N.C. Division of Water Quality's Wilmington office, told the StarNews that based upon the average flow in the line and the amount of time it was leaking, up to 1.4 million gallons could have escaped into the New Hanover County tidal creek.
