The Wilmington Sharks are pleased to announce that Brad Smith and Smith Family Baseball have agreed to terms with current Sharks ownership to purchase the baseball club.

Wilmington Waves win national title in hoops; update on Hoggard coach Scott Braswell & more

videoThe Wilmington Waves 7th grade basketball team captured a national title for travel basketbal in Myrtle Beach. Hoggard football coach Scott Braswell is back in Wilmington. The 2014 baseball season is now over for the Wilmington Sharks. The playoffs will start on Wednesday, but the Sharks won't be included.

Kickers defeat Hammerheads 3-1

videoThe Richmond Kickers came into Friday's USL Pro soccer game at Legion Stadium as the second place team in the league. The Wilmington Hammerheads managed to tie the Kickers in two earlier meetings this season, but unfortunately the Wilmington Hammerheads came up short on Friday night. Plus more!

Kevin Keatts throws out first pitch at Shark Tank; Sharks win third straight

videoClearly this was one of the best nights to be at the Shark Tank all year. UNCW basketball coach Kevin Keatts threw out the first pitch. The Florence head coach got tossed out of the game after throwing a slew of bats onto the field. Michael Montville hit a homer for the second night in a row. Jon Olczak was terrific on the mound. Sam Foy had three hits. Plus more!

Post 10 bows out of state tournament; Wilmington Sharks lose 6th straight

videoThe attempt to win three state championships in a row in American Legion baseball is now over for Wilmington Post 10. Scott Sandlin's squad lost on Monday night in Lexington at the state tournament. It wasn't a season ender, but the Wilmington Sharks also lost on Monday.

Wilmington Post 10 is stay alive in the NC American Legion Baseball State Tournament in Lexington. The Wilmington Hammerheads may have played their worst game of the season on Saturday night. The Wilmington Sharks lost their fifth game in a row. The Wilmington Tigers gave up 42 points on the road in a Mason-Dixon League football game.

videoIt doesn't look like Jordan Hamilton will suit up for the Wilmington Hammerheads anymore. He's no longer on loan from Toronto FC. He's now a member of Toronto FC. Without Hamilton and a handful of other players the Wilmington Hammerheads FC ended up in a scoreless draw with Arizona United SC on Friday night. Plus more!
