videoThe Wilmington Waves 7th grade basketball team captured a national title for travel basketbal in Myrtle Beach. Hoggard football coach Scott Braswell is back in Wilmington. The 2014 baseball season is now over for the Wilmington Sharks. The playoffs will start on Wednesday, but the Sharks won't be included.

The Charlotte Hornets are back. The NBA franchise announced Tuesday they have officially changed the name back to the Hornets after 10 years of being known as the Bobcats.

NC State's T.J. Warren to enter NBA draft

North Carolina State sophomore T.J. Warren is entering the NBA draft. In a statement released by the school Tuesday, the Atlantic Coast Conference's player of the year said he had "a fun ride" but was ready for the NBA.

Player hits lights, halts Division II game in tie

Talk about shooting the lights out. The Division II game between Johnson C. Smith and Winston Salem State was halted for safety reasons after a player heaved a full-court shot and knocked out lights - leaving the game tied with 0.3 seconds left on Wednesday night.
