One area high school team won a state title on Saturday. Several other high school squads had their state title dreams crushed. Congratulations to the Wilmington Christian Acadeny volleyball squad for back to back state titles in volleyball. The Landfall Tradition is over. Wake Forest won with a record setting performance. Panthers DE Hardy has bond set at $17,000

A Charlotte Mecklenburg County judge has set bond for Greg Hardy at $17,000 one day after the Carolina Panthers' Pro Bowl defensive end was arrested on charges of assault on a female and communicating threats.

The season is over for the Carolina Panthers. The San Francisco 49ers advance in the playoffs. WWAY's Chasity Melvin was honored in Cary on Saturday by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association for being of the best athletes in the state. Saturday was the first day Duke, North Carolina & NC State all lost on the same day since 1996 in men's basketball. Both UNC Wilmington basketball teams continued their losing streaks this weekend.
