The Wilmington Hammerheads had to win on Friday night to keep their playoff hopes alive. With seconds to spare the Hammerheads found the secret for success against Dayton with a hometown hero. Unfortunately the season came to a close on Friday night on the road for the Wilmington Sharks in Virginia. Wilmington Post 10 won on the baseball diamond on Friday though. Plus more! Full story...

On Thursday night we checked out baseball playoff action. The Wilmington Sharks had a chance to wrap up their first round series, but the Peninsula Pilots had different plans. Wilmington Post 10 was victorious though. Post 10 advances to the winner's bracket of the legion baseball regionals. Lori Beth Adams made a valiant effort, but the UNCW senior came up short at the U.S. Women's Amateur in Charleston. Plus more! Full story...

Carolina Panthers' owner Jerry Richardson is asking state lawmakers to help finance a stadium upgrade. Richardson told lawmakers in Raleigh on Wednesday that he would like $62 million in state aid along with state approval for $144 million in higher local taxes. Full story...
