The Atlantic Coast Conference has set its bowl lineup for its first season as a 14-team league.
The league announced Monday that it will have eight guaranteed bowl slots and a conditional deal for a ninth bowl.

A former Tar Heel football player won't get to take his lawsuit against the University of North Carolina to trial.
The North Carolina Court of Appeals on Tuesday affirmed a lower court ruling that dismissed a lawsuit by Michael McAdoo in 2011.

A handful of high school soccer squads from our region played second round state playoff games on Saturday. Based on the results we're now going to have a Wilmington vs. Wilmington matchup in the the third round of the state playoffs... It was only exhibition play, but UNCW hosted two basketball games on Saturday(men & women)... The upset of the day in ACC football occurred in Raleigh.

Former Hoggard kicker Casey Barth already broke his brother's all-time scoring record at UNC earlier this season. On Saturday Casey broke another school record as the Tar Heels rolled all over the Idaho Vandals in Chapel Hill.
