A pedestrian was struck by a car on College Road at New Centre Drive Wednesday night around 10PM. County dispatch has confirmed that one person was transported to Cape Fear hospital with a cut on their arm.

The intersection of College Rd. and Shipyard Blvd. is back open after a crash took down a pole and traffic signals. DOT crews worked for 4 hours to repair power of the intersection's traffic lights.

Wilmington man sentenced for bank robberies

video More than two years after he robbed two banks just days apart, Reggie Beckton has been sentenced for his crimes. Beckton was sentenced to 300 months in jail followed by three years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay more than $2,500 in restitution.

Work started to alleviate College Road traffic

If you have ever traveled College Road, you have probably spent some time stuck in traffic. The City of Wilmington is taking steps to alleviate some of that congestion by next summer. Crews have already started work to widen Independence Boulevard.
