This weekend you have a chance to support the performing arts while watching some of the Cape Fear's most talented children and adults perform. The Thalian Association is putting on 'It Takes Two: Take Two' in Wilmington. Performers will be singing duets, and ensemble pieces from some of your favorite movies. Child and adult performers paired up to learn from each other, and raise money for the Thalian Association's Children's Theater. Full story...

The mother of a victim of gun violence is blaming the City of Wilmington for her son's death. Patricia Proutey filed a lawsuit against Wilmington saying it is negligent for not providing enough light in the parking lot of the Community Arts Center, which contributed to her son's murder. Wilmington's arts community honored late media personality and arts patron Donn Ansell this morning. The Community Arts Center named its Lower Atrium Studio after Ansell for his contributions in saving the Cultural Resource Center, as well as his contributions to the artistic community in Wilmington. A week after 19-year-old CFCC student Josh Proutey was murdered in downtown Wilmington the community continues to mourn. Today, counselors offered their support at a public grief forum. Counselors hope this afternoon's forum will be the first step in the healing process. Full story...
