Willie Nelson and the annual Farm Aid concert and food festival are coming to North Carolina.
The concert is scheduled for Sept. 13 in the Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh. It features performances by Nelson, who is Farm Aid president and co-founder, along with fellow board members John Mellencamp, Neil Young, and Dave Matthews. Local artists will also perform.
In downtown Wilmington, melodies filled the air while audience members filled the seats of St. Paul's Episcopal Church for a special free concert.
The Tallis Chamber Orchestra featuring Wilmington harpist Christina Brier performed at the church earlier today.
WDI kicks off Wilmington's annual signature Friday night concert series Friday May 24. This summer marks the 8th season for the Downtown Sundown, which began as an economic development promotion to attract people downtown in the late afternoon. It has grown to be one of the more popular FREE events in the region, attracting locals and tourists of all ages.
