Day three of deliberations in a quadruple murder case in Columbus County and still no sentence. A jury took just a few hours May 5 to convict Danny Lamont Thomas of killing four people in Chadbourn in 2005 but their decision of how he should pay for the crimes is taking much longer.

Jurors in the Danny Thomas case spent Friday deliberating his sentence for killing four people during robberies in Chadbourn in 2005. The jury said they were deadlocked this afternoon, leading the court to decide to continue the sentencing portion of trial on Saturday morning.

The jury had a short day Tuesday. They heard testimony in the morning and were released just before lunch time, but the attorneys stayed busy the rest of the day discussing and preparing for what's next.
